Holy Communion:
If you have been confirmed by a Bishop in Apostolic Succession, you are invited to receive the Blessed Sacrament. If not, but are a Baptized Christian, please come to the Altar Rail for a blessing (simply cross your arms over your chest when the Celebrant approaches.) If you have questions, please speak to the clergy.

Today, March 31 at Christ Episcopal Church at 3 pm: Free concert by The Choir of Clare College, Cambridge (UK). The choir will present a program entitled “A Lenten Sequence” featuring works by Gibbons, Tallis, Wesley, Howells, Byrd, MacMillian, Harvey, Sanders, & Victoria.

YARD SALE:
Our Yard Sale will be taking place in early June. Sylvia Anderson has agreed to line baskets with pretty fabric for us to sell during this sale. If you have baskets that you no longer need, please bring them to the church ASAP so she will have time to work on them!!!

Seth Bingham (1882-1972), organist-director at New York’s Madison Avenue Presbyterian Church and Columbia University music professor, composed his French influenced piece on the tune for the Lenten hymn #59.
Introit

Richard Shephard (b.1949), choral/opera/orchestral composer and Chamberlain of York Minster, set this poem by John Byrom (1692-1763), English poet (including Hymn #16) and inventor of a system of shorthand.

This is a canonic setting by Johann Sebastian Bach (1685-1750) of the 1528 hymn, “Christ, you Lamb of God,” known as the German Agnus Dei, by Martin Luther.
- Today is the fourth Sunday of Lent, halfway through the season towards Easter. It is known as Laetare, the Latin term from the Introit for today from Isaiah 66:10: “Laetare Jerusalem.”
