Domenico Zipoli (1688-1726) was an Italian composer and organist in Rome who, in 1717, went with Jesuit missionaries to Argentina. There, he served as organist at the Jesuit church in Cordoba. His pastorale is in three contrasting sections that use the reed and flute stops played over a low bass note (called a pedalpoint).

Charles Zeuner (1795-1857) was a German who emigrated to Boston in 1824 where he was an organist, pianist and a singer, serving at Park St. Church and the Handel and Haydn Society (America’s oldest musical organization). He later served in Philadelphia at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church. His fugue with an unusual time signature (9/16) contrasts two flute stops.

John Rutter (b.1945) is an English composer known for his choral music, in particular his carols. His toccata (“touch piece”) is written in an unusual meter of seven beats.

The Sermon Hymn “Dear Lord and Father of mankind” was written as part of a longer poem in 1872 by the American poet John Greenleaf Whittier. He was a Quaker and an abolitionist. The tune was composed in 1887 for this text by Frederick Maker, an English organist in Bristol.
